남편은 밭으로 가고, 아내는 바다로 간다.
남편은 소를 몰아 밭을 간다. 땀이 등을 적신다. 아내는 물에 든다. 소라를 줍고,
전복을 딴다.
한 사람은 땅에서, 한 사람은 바다에서. 같은 하늘 아래 같은 마음으로 하루를
짊어진다.
그 땀으로 아이가 자랐다. 부모가 땅과 바다에서 하루씩 길어 올린 그 땀으로.
세상의 모든 하루가, 그렇게 누군가를 키웠다.

The sun rises. The husband goes to the field, and the wife goes to the sea. The
husband drives the ox and plows the field. Sweat soaks his back. The wife enters the
water. She gathers sea snails and picks abalone. One on the land, one in the sea.
Under the same sky, with the same heart, they shoulder the day. With that sweat, a
child grew. With the sweat the parents drew up day by day from the land and the
sea.
