옅은 한 빛으로 번진다.
분홍빛도 있고,
누런빛도 있고,
푸른빛도 있다.
새벽의 서늘함도,
한낮의 엷은 열기도,
저물녘의 가라앉는 빛도
다 그 안에 함께 있다.
먹 하나에
여러 농담이 들 듯,
옅은 한 색 안에도
온 하루의 시간이 스민다.
많은 색이
한 빛 안에서 잠잠해졌기 때문이다.
풍요는
많은 것에서만 오지 않는다.
옅은 한 빛 안에
여러 시간이 함께 머물 때,
비로소 깊이가 생긴다.
하루가 저무는 자리에서
하루 전체가
조용히 모인다.

The sea and the sky
spread into a single faint light.
There is pink,
there is yellowed light,
there is blue.
The coolness of dawn,
the thin heat of midday,
the sinking light of dusk
are all there together.
As a single ink
holds many shades,
within one faint color
the time of a whole day seeps in.
Many colors
have grown quiet inside one light.
Fullness
does not come only from many things.
When many times remain together
within one faint light,
only then does depth begin.
