파도는 높고 바람은 거세다.
초가는 낮아지고, 나무는 가지를 잃고, 말은 고개를 숙인다.
저마다 무언가를 잃었다. 지붕의 높이를, 가지 하나를, 고개의 꼿꼿함을.
그러나 모두 아직 그 자리에 있다.
견딤은 상처 없이 버티는 일이 아니다. 조금씩 자신을 내어주면서도 끝내 사라지지
않는 일이다.
오래 산 사람의 얼굴이 그렇다. 잃은 것의 자국이 있고, 그 자국 사이로 아직 그
사람이 있다.

The waves are high, and the wind is fierce.
The thatched house grows lower, the tree loses its branches, and the horse bows its
head.
Each has had its form worn away a little, yet each remains in its place.
To endure is not to hold out without wounds.
Perhaps it is to give oneself away little by little, and yet, in the end, not vanish.
