Endurance is not waiting for a windless day, but keeping one's path while the wind continues.

The sun is up and the painting is bright. But the wind is fierce.
The tree leans to one side and the thatched house lowers itself. The old man walks on, bent at the waist, leaning on a staff.
A bright day does not make life's hardships disappear. Even in the clear light of noon, a person bends. A day that looks good to others may be the hardest day for him to endure.
The wind is the years that push a person back, an inescapable history, the weight of life that comes to the living.
The old man does not fight the wind. He lowers himself and goes forward one step at a time. He bends so as not to fall, and leans on his staff so as not to stop.
Endurance does not wait for a windless day. It is keeping one's way even in the wind.
Today, too, he goes on. Above his bent back, the noon sun shines brightly.
