A sea village is where sea and land divide the work of sustaining life.

A few thatched houses sit low beside the sea. Stone walls enclose them, and leafless trees reach their branches toward the water. Far off, a small boat. It leaves the land and follows a path over the water.
No one is visible. But the houses hold traces of waiting, the stone walls hold time spent keeping watch, and the trees' dry branches hold the wind of countless farewells.
A seaside village is not a village built beside the sea. It is where some leave and others remain to keep a place for their return. It is where sea and land share the care of one another's lives.
