Short commentary
The departing boat and remaining house bind maritime and terrestrial life within one fūdo.

The sun hangs over the sea, and a small boat passes along the horizon. On the cape to the right, a thatched house lies low, keeping its place with the stone wall. Below, at the water's edge, a person stands with a fishing rod.
The boat goes far out, the house stays on land, and between them the person looks at the sea.
A seaside village means more than a gathering of houses. It is where the departing boat and the remaining house, a life earned at sea and a life waiting on land, are joined within the same Fūdo.
Some go to sea, and some keep a place to return to. Between the two, the village lives through a day.
