A thin line
divides the sea and the sky.
Far away, a small boat;
at the water's edge, a person holding a fishing rod.
But there is no line.
Because there is nothing
he wants to catch.
The rod is an excuse.
He is not waiting for fish;
he is merely holding a reason
to look at the sea.
Waiting
is not a time for gaining something.
It is to leave the heart for a long time
turned toward what does not come.
And so waiting is long,
and longer still.
