The wind, first of all,
lays the land down.
The tree tilts,
and the horse braces its body upright.
The old man, with a single staff,
plants himself on his own ground.
Everything sways.
But none of them steps back.
The wind passes.
the posture that endured remains.
Even after a lifetime has passed,
what remains
is the posture
in which that person stood.
