Island

섬

An island is alone. But not isolated. There is the sea. There is the wind. There are currents. There are birds. An island is an island not because of its isolation but because it is itself. The painter, too, in Jeju became an island. And was, at last, free.

섬은 혼자다 그러나 고립된 것이 아니다 바다가 있다 바람이 있다 조류가 있다 새가 있다 섬이 섬인 것은 고립 때문이 아니라 자기 자신이기 때문이다 화가도 제주에서 섬이 되었다 그리고 비로소 자유로웠다
