Mr. K,
in an army field jacket,

was sitting.

His left hand
lay on a red circle.

His right hand
lay on his right foot.

I
looked from one hand to the other.

“Will you get up?”

Mr. K
looked at the hand on his foot.

“I don't know.”

After a moment

his eyes went
to the hand on the red circle.

“I'd like to rest, too.”

He
looked ahead again.

I

painted the hand on the red circle,

then painted
the hand on the foot.

In the hand on the foot
there was
still some strength.
