Man and Horse
Two beings face each other. No words.
In the moment the old man's wrinkles meet the pony's eyes, a language passes that is only possible between beings who have lived together for a long time. It cannot be explained. It can only be felt.
In this painting, Byun Shi-Ji erased the division between human and nature. The old man is a being shaped by Jeju's fūdo. The pony is a being shaped by Jeju's fūdo. They came from the same thing.
