Lamp and Woman
등잔과 여인
A crimson thread wound upon her white dress—
like a flag, yet not a flag,
but a pattern of the body
enduring itself.
Her gaze drifts sideways,
and the silence around her
rests between light and shadow.
On the table behind,
a dusty lamp in an unfamiliar place—
its flame already gone,
or burning faintly only in memory.
She knows this.
She stands straight, still.

한 장의 깃발 같으나
깃발이 아닌
스스로를 지탱하는 몸의 무늬
그녀의 시선은 비껴서 흘러가고
말 없는 자리는
빛과 어둠 사이에 걸려 있다
뒤편 탁자 위
먼지가 앉은 등잔
그 불빛은 이미 꺼졌거나
기억 속에서만 희미하게 타오른다
불러낼 수 없는 과거의 빛
그녀는 그것을 알면서
여전히 곧게 서 있다
